Job summary

Helion, based in Everett, WA, seeks a senior leader to scale the Plant Control Software team responsible for embedded, supervisory, networking, and data software that drives the fusion plant. You will hire, mentor, and guide engineers across firmware and software domains, aligning hardware delivery with software milestones.

You will collaborate with electrical and mechanical engineering, systems engineering, and operations to ensure seamless integration of software with hardware on a shared

Qualifications

• 10+ years building complex control systems for hardware.
• 3+ years in a leadership role building and managing a multidisciplinary software team.
• Experience delivering software against hardware on a shared schedule.
• Ability to work across electrical, mechanical, systems engineering, and operations teams.
• Degree in CS or EE or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Lead and grow the Plant Control Software team across firmware, application software, networking, infrastructure, and cybersecurity.
• Own delivery of the plant control software stack across embedded, supervisory, networking, and data layers.
• Partner with electrical, mechanical, fuel cycle, systems engineering, operations, and science; coordinate across hardware and software schedules.
• Establish engineering principles for planning, reviews, tests, deployments, fault handling, and handoffs to operations.
