Job summary

Chugach Electric Association in Anchorage, AK seeks an experienced accounting professional to manage asset accounting, reconciliations, and related journal entries. The role supports the plant accounting function and coordinates with auditors and other departments.

The candidate should have a high school diploma with accounting coursework and at least two years of accounting experience, preferably in property, plant, utility, or equipment accounting.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required; six accounting credit hours completed.

Responsibilities

• Maintain continuing property records and reconcile balances to trial balance.
• Perform monthly inventory account reconciliations.
• Assist with physical inventory counts and adjustments.
• Handle journal entries for depreciation and amortization of assets.
• Reconcile Contributions in Aid of Construction and related trial balances.
• Prepare schedules for audit and year-end reporting.
• Assist in converting fixed assets records to an automated system.
