Job summary

UGI Utilities, Inc seeks an Accountant I - Plant to prepare and maintain records for plant balances and assist with monthly closes. You will release orders in SAP, coordinate with project managers, and ensure accurate capitalization of assets.

The role requires knowledge of GAAP, strong Excel skills, and experience with ERP/Fixed Asset systems. 1–2 years of accounting experience is preferred; bachelor’s degree required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field.
• 1–2 years of accounting experience preferred.
• Knowledge of GAAP and regulatory accounting practices preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and post standard and non-recurring journal entries for plant balances.
• Complete account reconciliations and monthly close.
• Perform SOX controls documentation and associated processes.
• Assist with capital project evaluation and CSCIP/PS&I to capital work orders transfers.
• Release SAP projects and ensure proper project approvals and DOA compliance.
• Record retirements and unitize project assets; coordinate with project managers and GIS.
