Job summary

Responsibilities include performing field inspections, documenting findings, maintaining data in the review system, and providing clear feedback to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in architecture, building sciences, construction management or related field.
• Over four years of experience as a building inspector or plans examiner.
• ICC Building Plans Examiner certification.
• SC license eligibility for Building Plans Examiner at time of employment.

Responsibilities

• Perform plan reviews for new construction, alterations, and repairs to ensure code compliance.
• Perform field inspections and onsite evaluations of construction projects.
• Provide customer service and respond to permit or plan review inquiries.
• Maintain data management and standard plan review comments in the system.
• Conduct development meetings with designers, engineers, owners to discuss plans and code requirements.
• Maintain required certifications and licenses and continue professional development.
