Job summary

Qualifications

• Florida license as a Plans Examiner and maintenance of related continuing education as required by the state
• Florida license as an Inspector and maintenance as required by the state
• At least 6 years of experience as a building inspector, contractor, or plan reviewer with 1 year performing complex plan reviews or completion of 1 year of training for advanced commercial examiner tasks

Responsibilities

• Verify the compliance of construction documents with applicable building codes, regulations and standards and provide comments in oral and written forms
• Represent/advocate for Building Services with various communities, regulatory venues and enforcement actions
• Performs other related job duties as assigned

Education

Bachelor’s degree in civil engineering, construction, or related field

Associate degree in engineering, architecture, construction, or related field

Certification in a related field

Equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience
