Job summary

UES is seeking a Plans Examiner to review building plans for compliance with codes, zoning, and regulations in a fast-paced, team-driven environment. You will verify drawings, identify discrepancies, and prepare reports while coordinating with architects, engineers, contractors, and property owners.

The role requires Florida Building Plans Examiner license, CAD proficiency, and the ability to manage multiple tasks with accuracy. Occasional domestic travel (10–20%) is expected.

Qualifications

• Valid Florida Building Plans Examiner license.
• Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations.
• Familiarity with CAD software and plan review tools.
• Ability to read and write clearly and to prepare reports.

Responsibilities

• Examine building plans for compliance with codes, zoning laws and regulations.
• Identify discrepancies and work with applicants to address them.
• Verify plans meet local standards and prepare written reports with findings.
• Coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and owners on revisions and code issues.
• Stay up to date with changes in codes and best practices.
• Utilize CAD and plan review tools for electronic reviews and documentation.
