Job summary

SPL in Plano, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our environmental laboratory team. You will handle the intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making, logging samples into the Laboratory Information Management System (LIMS) and ensuring accuracy.

You will label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel, maintain secure storage, oversee disposal per protocols, prepare sample kits, and

Qualifications

• 1+ years of administrative support, accurate data entry, documentation, and records management.
• Prior lab, sample management, or related technical environment preferred.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Responsibilities

• Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff
• Verify samples meet condition standards and comply with policies and regulatory guidelines
• Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system
• Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner
• Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee disposal per established protocols
• Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments
• Provide assistance to colleagues and support inventory, supply preparation, and general lab activities
• Perform other duties as assigned
