Job summary

SPL in Plano, TX is seeking a detail-oriented Sample Management Technician to join our environmental laboratory team. You will handle intake, documentation, and organization of environmental samples to support compliance and decision-making.

Responsibilities include logging samples into LIMS, storage and distribution, and ensuring accuracy and efficiency across the lab. A High School Diploma and 1+ years of related experience are required. On-site schedule with potential after-hours work.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of relevant work experience involving administrative support, accurate data entry, documentation, and records management.

Responsibilities

• Receive and document samples from clients, couriers, shipping, laboratory, and/or field staff.
• Verify that all samples meet condition standards and comply with organizational policies, quality requirements, and applicable regulatory guidelines.
• Accurately record sample information, details, and required analyses in laboratory software system.
• Label, organize, and distribute samples to appropriate personnel in a timely manner.
• Maintain orderly and secure sample storage areas and oversee the proper placement, retrieval, and disposal of samples in accordance with established protocols.
• Prepare sample kits and manage outbound shipments as required.
• Provide assistance to colleagues and support related operational functions, including inventory management, supply preparation, and general support activities.
• Perform other duties as assigned
