Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park and Planning Commission's Prince George’s County Planning Department is seeking a Planning Technician II to support intake and regulatory review activities in Largo, Maryland. You will perform application reviews, collect data from permit systems, and help ensure information accuracy for the planning function.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Two years of progressively responsible experience with plan, permit, and development application review.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
• Experience with record keeping, database management, and application processing in a regulatory environment.
• Familiarity with local zoning, urban design, and subdivision codes is advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Perform application reviews, data collection and analysis for intake and regulatory review.
• Collect data from permit systems and other sources and ensure accuracy.
• Organize and review data to meet requirements; maintain databases.
• Answer questions for staff and customers via phone, in person, or mail.
• Communicate maps and publications as needed.
