Job summary

The Prince George’s County Planning Department of The Maryland National-Capital Park and Planning Commission is seeking a Planner III to join our planning team. The position conducts advanced planning work including reviewing land use proposals and coordinating with county agencies and the public.

Responsibilities include leading project teams, preparing findings for the County Planning Board and Zoning Hearing Examiner, and presenting complex issues clearly in public hearings.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Planning or related field.
• Four (4) years of progressively responsible professional level planning experience.
• An equivalent combination of education and experience totaling eight years.
• Valid driver’s license in accordance with State and Commission rules.

Responsibilities

• Review applications for conformance to County Code including Zoning and Subdivision Regulations.
• Coordinate departmental recommendations on applications and inquiries.
• Lead project teams and present complex planning issues at public hearings.
