Job summary

The Maryland-National Capital Park & Planning Commission, located in Largo, Maryland, seeks a Planning Technician II to join the Prince George’s County Planning Department. The role handles data, reviews applications, and supports regulatory planning services in a high-volume environment.

Ideal candidates are highly organized, detail-oriented, with strong analytical and communication skills, and familiarity with zoning, urban design, and subdivision codes.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED.
Two (2) years of progressively responsible experience with plan, permit, and development application review.
An equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted, which together total two (2) years.

Responsibilities

Performs application reviews and data collection in support of the planning function.
Maintains databases and organizes data to ensure accuracy and meet requirements.
Answers questions for supervisor or staff and customers by telephone, in person, by form letter or notice.
