Job summary

The City of Goldsboro seeks a seasoned Planning Services Division Manager to lead current and long-range planning, zoning, environmental code enforcement, historic preservation, MPO/Transportation, and Brownfields within the Development Services Department.

Reporting to the Development Services Director, the role includes staff supervision, policy development, grant writing, and coordinating with multiple boards and external agencies to advance city planning initiatives.

Qualifications

• Requires Bachelor’s degree in planning or related field.
• Public sector planning experience preferred.
• Strong knowledge of zoning, land use, and environmental planning.

Responsibilities

• Direct planning services division and supervise staff.
• Coordinate planning activities with federal, state, and local agencies.
• Develop and administer division budget and programs.
• Oversee MPO/Transportation planning and Brownfields program.
• Prepare reports and presentations for City leadership.
