Job summary

The City of Goldsboro is seeking a seasoned Finance professional to manage governmental accounting, budgeting, auditing, and financial systems. You will coordinate the annual operating budget, capital projects, external audit, and compliance programs under the Finance Director.

Responsibilities include implementing financial policies, maintaining internal controls, leading ERP initiatives, and delivering strategic financial analyses to support city operations and council decisions.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or public administration or closely related field.
• Seven (7) years of progressively responsible governmental accounting, auditing, budgeting or financial management experience.
• CPA and local government work experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee governmental accounting, budgeting, auditing, compliance and financial systems.
• Coordinate City's annual operating budget, capital and grant project financial oversight, and external audit.
