Job summary

City of Goldsboro is seeking a Capital Improvement Projects Manager to lead the Facilities CIP, overseeing planning, budgeting, and execution of vertical construction projects across city facilities.

You will coordinate with architects, engineers and city departments, lead committees, manage bids and change orders, and present CIP updates to boards and City Council. A bachelor’s degree and five years in construction PM are required; PMP certification is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Construction Management, Project Management, Engineering, or a related field.
• Five years of increasing responsibility in construction project management, preferably in government.
• Additional education or experience may substitute for the minimum qualifications.

Responsibilities

• Directs Capital Improvement Plans and manages CIP budgets.
• Leads planning, budgeting, and scheduling for facilities construction projects.
• Coordinates with architects, engineers, contractors, and city departments.
• Manages bid processes, contract awards, and change orders.
• Chairs progress meetings and reports project status to boards.
