Job summary

The City of Mount Holly Planning Department is seeking a part-time Planning Intern for Spring 2027. The role is in-person, up to 16 hours per week, with pay ranging from $14.00 to $16.00 per hour depending on education level.

Projects include text amendments, rezonings, events, and GIS tasks, with shadowing across four planning sections. Interns will gain experience through diverse assignments, attend City Council meetings, and receive a computer and phone from the City.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a bachelor’s or master’s degree in planning, geography, public administration, or a related field.
• Junior or senior in a bachelor program or a master’s student qualifies.
• In-person internship with paid compensation and biweekly pay cycle.

Responsibilities

• Assist with text amendments and rezonings, events, and routine office tasks.
• Use ArcGIS Online and ArcGIS Pro to complete projects and compile GIS datasets.
• Take meeting minutes, proof documents, and support customer greetings.
