Job summary

The City of Maywood is seeking an Associate Planner to carry out professional planning work, review development applications, prepare staff reports, and assist residents and developers. Under supervision, you will participate in long-range planning, zoning analyses, and policy development to support the City’s growth and regulatory compliance.

You will coordinate with the Building and Planning Director, attend Planning Commission meetings, and contribute to environmental reviews, CEQA analyses,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in urban or regional planning or closely related field.
• Two years of progressively responsible professional planning experience.
• Valid California driver’s license or ability to obtain one.

Responsibilities

• Review and process planning applications and development proposals.
• Prepare staff reports, presentations, and correspondence.
• Assist with long-range and general plan studies.
• Coordinate with departments, applicants, residents, and consultants.
• Attend public meetings and respond to inquiries.
