Job summary

The City of Princeton seeks a Municipal Planning Associate to handle day-to-day planning activities, review site plans, and ensure compliance with zoning regulations. You will evaluate development applications, assist with long-range planning, and respond to public inquiries.

Under supervision, you will attend Planning and Zoning Commission and City Council meetings, coordinate with colleagues, and support building and zoning permit processes.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED; Two years professional level municipal planning experience preferred.
• Bachelor’s degree in related field may be accepted in lieu of professional experience.
• Knowledge of planning principles, zoning, annexation, and floodplain management.
• Must possess a valid Texas driver’s license and reliable means of transportation.
• Ability to pass background check, drug screening, and physical exam.

Responsibilities

• Review site plans and applications for residential, commercial, and industrial development, ensuring compliance with land use and zoning regulations.
• Analyze and evaluate planning applications; review plats, annexations, and variances.
• Attend Planning and Zoning Commission, City Council, and Town Hall meetings.
• Respond to public inquiries and assist with long-range planning projects.
• Assist with issuing building and zoning permits and related customer service.
