Job description

The Planner is a cross functional role focusing on maximizing sales and managing inventory levels through execution of reporting and detailed business analysis, as well as manage certain administrative tasks to update our ERP and order management systems. As Planner, you will contribute to the creation of sales plans and develop in-season strategies to achieve these plans. You will develop an understanding of key performance indicators such as sales trend to plan, inventory turns, and gross margin to support your recommendations.

Responsibilities

Inventory Management & Optimization:

  • Monitor inventory levels for DTC channels to ensure optimal stock levels, balancing sales demand with supply chain constraints.
  • Partner with VP of Planning to exhaust out of season stock through markdowns, off price or sample sales.

Wholesale:

  • Sales planning – partnering with the sales team, assist in determining appropriate targets by client and division.
  • Maintain reporting and analysis on sales forecast vs the budget.
  • Market preparation – assist in providing analysis to help the sales team in creating appropriate packages for each client.
  • Client negotiations – support the sales team by validating Open-to-Buy’s.
  • Assist in managing in-season dilution spending to adhere to budget.

Direct-to-Consumer:

  • OTB planning – assist in determining proper inventory investment across the two channels to achieve sales and margin targets.
  • Sales reporting – weekly recap and analysis on actual sales results with actionable strategies to drive volume.
  • Sales forecasting – assist in reviewing trends to forecast future periods, highlighting opportunities and risks to plan for the rest of the season and year.
  • Inventory management – efficiently utilize inventory to achieve sales plans through detailed analysis, identifying SKU level sales opportunities such as re-orders or transfers of slow turning stock if necessary.

Qualifications

  • An undergraduate degree in Business or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years relevant experience in buying or planning roles preferred
  • Advance working knowledge of excel, retail math and planning skills.
  • Experience in RLM, JOOR, Shopify and Google Analytics is preferred.
  • Detail orientated, results driven individual with a focus on accuracy and efficiency.
  • Ability to learn and utilize new software and systems quickly and effectively.
  • Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Capability to multitask, problem solve and self-manage projects.
  • Able to train and manage seasonal department intern.

The targeted base salary range for this role is $70,000-$90,000. Actual salary offered may be outside of this range based on factors such as, relevant skills, qualifications, and experience. This role is eligible for company health benefit programs and additional benefits, including participation in an annual performance-based incentive program, a seasonal clothing allowance, and a 401k match program.
