Job summary

Smile Brands is seeking an Insurance Plan Fee Coordinator to support local affiliates with employer plan setup, insurance benefits, and carrier setup for new contracts. Mon-Fri, 8am-4:30pm PT, on-site in the United States.

You will handle data transfers, eligibility verification, and plan design applications with accuracy and attention to detail. Requirements include 2 years in dental insurance/fee schedules, knowledge of CDT, and experience with QSI or Dentrix Ascend.

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience with dental insurance plans or fee schedules.
• Knowledge of CDT codes and insurance verification.
• Experience with practice management systems (QSI, Dentrix Ascend) or similar.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Office 365.
• Excellent communication and writing skills.

Overview

Smile Brands is a dominant player in the dental space and we are seeking a Insurance Plan Fee Coordinator to join our team. Under general supervision, the Plan Coordinator's main responsibility is to support our local affiliates and operations in setting up employer plans, insurance plan benefits and insurance carrier setup in support of new contractual agreements, insurance and patient financial responsibility and claim creation.

Schedule (days/hours)

Mon - Fri 8am- 4:30pm PST

Responsibilities

• Transfer data from internal application formats into computer files or database systems using keyboards, data recorders
• Verify data by comparing it to source documents
• Maintain highly organized and accurate database of employer plan and insurance carrier records
• If needed verify patient’s insurance eligibility and patient specific benefits; waiting periods; limitations; frequencies
• Verify coverage using carriers websites, fax back and phone call
• Understand plan designs and apply knowledge to plan setup
• Perform systematic benefit expiration plan review of existing plans

Qualifications

• 2 years of experience working with dental insurance plans, benefits, or fee schedules
• Knowledge of dental terminology, CDT codes, and insurance verification processes
• Experience using practice management systems (e.g., QSI, Dentrix Ascend or similar platforms)
• Familiarity with insurance carrier portals and eligibility verification tools
• High-volume data entry experience (minimum typing speed of 50 WPM)
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and/or Office 365
• Great communication and writing skills
• Organization skills, strong attention to detail, with ability to stay focused on assigned tasks
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Compensation

$15 - $17/hr
