Job summary

SACCO & FILLAS, LLP is seeking an attorney with 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience to manage a substantial caseload and handle all litigation phases from inception to trial.

The ideal candidate will be a licensed New Jersey attorney in good standing, able to work independently yet collaboratively within a team, and possess strong legal writing and communication skills. Significant courtroom experience is highly valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of plaintiff personal injury litigation experience.
• Licensed New Jersey attorney in good standing.
• Experience in plaintiff's personal injury law.
• Comfortable managing a significant caseload.

• Ability to appear in court and handle litigation independently.

Responsibilities

• Manage plaintiff personal injury cases from inception through resolution and trial.
• Appear in court and handle routine and substantive conferences.
• Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
• Prepare and respond to interrogatories and other discovery.
• Take and defend depositions.
• Conduct legal research and draft motions and briefs.
• Handle motion practice and discovery disputes.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediations.
• Prepare cases for arbitration and trial.
• Assist with appeals and appellate matters as appropriate.
• Communicate effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurers and experts.
• Maintain an organized and current caseload.

Position Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a substantial personal injury caseload and will have significant hands‑on litigation experience, including:

• Managing plaintiff's personal injury cases from inception through resolution and trial
• Appearing in court and handling routine and substantive court conferences
• Drafting pleadings, motions, discovery demands and responses
• Preparing and responding to interrogatories and other discovery
• Taking and defending depositions
• Conducting legal research and drafting motions and briefs
• Handling motion practice and discovery disputes
• Participating in settlement negotiations and mediations
• Preparing cases for arbitration and trial
• Assisting with appeals and appellate matters as appropriate
• Communicating effectively with clients, opposing counsel, insurance carriers and experts
• Maintaining an organized and current caseload

Significant jury trial experience is highly preferred and will be given strong consideration.

• A minimum of 5 years of personal injury litigation experience
• Experienced in plaintiff's personal injury law
