RIM Recruitment Professionals is seeking an Associate Attorney specializing in Litigation and Pre-Litigation in Kansas City, MO. This full-time, in-person role targets sharp litigators who want meaningful work beyond the usual high-volume docket.

The position requires a Missouri and/or Kansas bar license, 3+ years of litigation (plaintiff-side preferred), and 5–7 years in pre-litigation and settlement work.

Qualifications

• Missouri and/or Kansas bar license required; both jurisdictions preferred.
• 3+ years of litigation experience; plaintiff-side experience preferred.
• 5–7 years in pre-litigation, settlement negotiations, and fact-finding.
• Excellent client-facing communication and interpersonal skills.
• Strong organizational abilities to manage a demanding caseload.
• In-office role based in Kansas City with a stable employment history.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute strategy on personal injury and long-term disability cases
• Draft pleadings, motions, discovery documents, and correspondence
• Negotiate directly with insurance companies
• Communicate with clients with clarity and genuine empathy
• Review medical records and expert reports
• Supervise paralegals and legal assistants through a case management system
• Oversee the settlement and lien reduction process
• Participate in depositions, mediations, and trials
