Job Summary:

• We are seeking a PL/SQL Developer to support the State of New York's Department of Social Services (DSS) in various critical IT initiatives. The ideal candidate should have 4+ years of experience developing and maintaining PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL statements in Oracle 12c. Additionally, they should have 4+ years of experience in performance tuning, specifically optimizing SQL and PL/SQL code, and 4+ years of experience working with XML processing and object-oriented programming involving large objects.
• DSS is experiencing a growing demand for comprehensive systems lifecycle application development across various computer platforms. This includes critical systems such as client eligibility and recertification, employment/work engagement services, and claims management systems. Periodic refinements are required to ensure these applications remain at optimal service levels. Maintaining an accurate project portfolio that reflects user needs and DSS operational workload is essential. Therefore, there is a need for IT consulting resources to support these expanding responsibilities.

Position Tasks & Duties:

• Develop system design documents that meet system and security requirements, including selecting alternative approaches.
• Develop specifications for databases, communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software configurations.
• Create structured diagrams for databases, communication systems, networks, and security or network programs.
• Develop and maintain PL/SQL Packages, Stored Procedures, Functions, Triggers, and SQL statements in Oracle 12c.
• Develop system documentation and operational procedures for communication systems, hardware, network, security, storage, and software.
• Create guidelines and upgrade procedures for supporting databases, hardware systems, operating systems software, network systems, security, and client-server systems.
• Configure and document databases, servers, computers, security, network monitoring systems, packaged programs, macros, utilities, and communication systems.
• Perform system coding in the .NET and Low Code Application Platform (LCAP) environments.
• Provide programming assistance and support testing and maintenance of program code to meet functional requirements.

Must Have Skills & Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience developing and maintaining PL/SQL packages, stored procedures, functions, triggers, and SQL statements in Oracle 12c.
• Minimum 4 years of performance tuning, including SQL and PL/SQL optimization.
• Minimum 4 years of experience working with XML processing and object-oriented programming involving large objects.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with data structures, data manipulation, database design, programming, testing, and implementation.
• Minimum 4 years of experience with technical and user documentation and software conversion processes.
