We are Buchanan seeks a Pitches & Pursuits Manager to lead strategic proposals and major client pursuits across the firm’s Energy sector. This hybrid role can sit in NYC, D.C., or Houston, collaborating with senior lawyers and BD leadership to craft tailored pitch strategies.

You will guide teams from strategy to execution, leveraging market intelligence to differentiate the firm and win significant opportunities. Strong writing, PM, and stakeholder skills are essential.

• 7+ years in business development, proposals, or marketing.
• Proven track record managing complex client proposals and RFPs.
• Strong writing, project management, and stakeholder management skills.

• Lead sophisticated proposals, RFPs, panel appointments, and strategic pursuits from strategy through execution.
• Partner with senior lawyers and M&BD leadership to develop compelling pitch strategies and materials.
• Leverage market, client, and competitive intelligence to strengthen pursuit strategy and differentiate the firm.
• Prepare teams for client presentations, interviews, and pitches.
• Support broader Energy sector BD initiatives, including directory submissions, thought leadership, and events.
• Identify opportunities to enhance pursuit strategy, processes, and best practices across a global platform.

They are seeking a Pitches & Pursuits Manager to lead strategic proposals and major client pursuits across the firm’s world-renowned Energy sector.

This role will be hybrid and can sit in NYC, D.C., or Houston.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead sophisticated proposals, RFPs, panel appointments, and strategic pursuits from strategy through execution


• Partner with senior lawyers and M&BD leadership to develop compelling, tailored pitch strategies and materials


• Leverage market, client, and competitive intelligence to strengthen pursuit strategy and differentiate the firm


• Prepare teams for client presentations, interviews, and pitches


• Support broader Energy sector BD initiatives, including directory submissions, thought leadership, and events

Key Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience across business development, proposals, pursuits, or marketing

• Confident partnering with senior-level professionals in a fast-paced, global environment
