Superior Air Parts in Coppell, Texas, seeks a Mechanical/Aerospace Design Engineer to support the full life cycle of piston-engine component development—from concept and analysis to testing, FAA certification, and production.

You will create and refine 3D CAD models, perform FEA, and collaborate with DERs, Manufacturing, and Quality to ensure safety, reliability, and regulatory compliance, while gaining hands-on engine experience in a team that values growth and engineering excellence.

Competenze

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering or equivalent.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0 on the cumulative scale.
• Experience with piston-engine design and operation.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD models and engineering drawings.
• Proficiency with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
• US work authorization required.

Mansioni

• Support design, development, testing, certification, and production of piston-engine components.
• Work with crankcases, cylinders, crankshafts, and valve trains.
• Create, evaluate, revise, and maintain 3D CAD models and drawings.
• Perform finite element analysis to evaluate stresses and guide design decisions.
• Assist with engine testing and data analysis.
• Prepare FAA certification documentation and test plans.
• Participate in engine assembly, teardown, and inspections.
• Collaborate with DERs, Manufacturing, Quality, and other teams.
• Provide engineering support for production activities.
• Assist with additional engineering and operational projects.
