DeltaHawk Engines, Inc. in Racine, WI seeks a Mechanical Engineer I to develop new engine components and validate designs under the Director of Engineering. The role blends engineering analysis with hands-on work on engine systems and subsystems.

The candidate will contribute to design optimization, testing protocols, and cost-effective manufacturing methods while aligning with FAA standards and industry best practices.

Qualifications

  • BS, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent from four‑year University.
  • Proficient with SolidWorks or other 3D CAD modeling software.
  • FEA, CFD, fatigue, durability, or engine performance simulation and optimization experience.
  • GD&T Experience.
  • Communicate cross‑functionally and think critically and convey thoughts effectively.

Responsabilités

  • Assist in the design and development of engine and airframe subsystems and components, starting with basic engineering analysis.
  • Select appropriate materials and processes considering performance, longevity, reliability, and cost.
  • Proactively communicate with engineers, drafters, suppliers, and program managers to optimize engine design, reliability, and performance.
  • Develop and create test standards and protocols; analyze test results.
  • Design for the lowest manufacturing cost consistent with reliability, performance requirements, and FAA certification standards.
  • Complete drawing preparation in accordance with ASME drafting standards.
  • Perform stack up tolerance analysis to ensure designs are suitable for manufacture and function.
  • Assist with the setup and execution of FEA, CFD, and engine performance analysis.

Job Summary

Under the direction of the Director of Engineering, the Mechanical Engineer will assist in the development of new engine components, system designs and test assets as well as the sustainment of existing models. This individual will primarily focus on engine development and validation including conceptualization, detailed engineering design, and analysis.

This position is a professional engineering position, yet combined with occasional “hands‑on”, assisting technicians working through challenges on the engine(s).
