Job summary

Modigent seeks a Superintendent - Piping to lead field operations for piping fabrication and installation on commercial mechanical projects. You will guide crews, ensure code-compliant workmanship, and coordinate with trades to deliver high-quality piping for HVAC, plumbing, and process applications nationwide.

You will mentor fitters and welders, uphold OSHA safety standards, and optimize workflows while maintaining schedule and budget considerations.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in piping fabrication/installation for commercial mechanical projects.
• 3+ years supervisory experience.
• High school diploma or GED; trade certifications preferred.
• Field/shop-based work; lift up to 50 lbs, ladders, confined spaces; PPE and OSHA compliance.
• Occasional regional travel/on-site work; safety-first culture.

Responsibilities

• Supervise fabrication, welding, assembly, and installation of piping systems per blueprints and codes.
• Manage shop and field crews: scheduling, material staging, and tool readiness.
• Enforce safety protocols; conduct hazard assessments and PPE compliance.
• Coordinate with other trades and project managers for sequencing and conflicts.
• Perform quality inspections and documentation for handover and compliance.
• Troubleshoot fabrication/installation issues and optimize workflows.
• Mentor pipefitters, welders, and fabricators on best practices and safety.
