Job summary

The Piping Designer at Hargrove Beaumont is responsible for routine piping drafting and design on smaller projects, under supervision. You will develop drawings from sketches, assist in field design, prepare material take-offs, and support startup activities on site.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma and at least 2 years of mechanical or piping drafting experience, proficient in 2D AutoCAD and Microstation, and comfortable with MS Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 2+ years of piping drafting experience.
• Knowledge of piping materials in drafting.
• Drafting of piping drawings, P&IDs and GA’s.
• Knowledge of company engineering design and CAD drafting standards.
• Proficient with 2D AutoCAD and Microstation.
• MS Word, Excel and Outlook proficiency.
• Good verbal and written communication.
• Virtual team collaboration.

Responsibilities

• Familiarity with department design and drafting standards.
• Understand project scope, specs and design criteria on assignment.
• Drafting and design of piping drawings from sketches and information.
• Assist field design to determine conditions, locate new systems, and liaise with client personnel.
• Prepare material take-offs from piping drawings.
• Identify and communicate scope/design changes promptly.
• Provide on-site support during startup.
