Job summary

ITAC, a design-build engineering firm with a strong regional presence in the Carolinas, seeks a Department Manager to lead mechanical engineering and piping design efforts for diverse clients. You will supervise resources, manage project scopes, and drive on-time delivery across multiple projects.

The role requires a Bachelor's in Mechanical Engineering, proven leadership, and proficiency in AutoCAD and related tools.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
• Proven experience in managing piping design and installation projects.
• Strong knowledge of industry standards and regulations related to piping systems.
• Proficiency in AutoCAD and other relevant design software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with clients and internal teams.
• Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a team.
• Detail-oriented with strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously.

Responsibilities

• Oversee department resources and staff scheduling to meet billability targets.
• Lead project planning, scope, budget, and scheduling for engineering deliverables.
• Coordinate cross-group resources and ensure quality of discipline deliverables.
• Develop design, engineering, and project management capabilities.
• Provide input to performance evaluations and career planning.
