Job summary

Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is seeking a Pipeline Operator to manage movements of crude oil and refined products through pipeline systems, perform routine inspections, and ensure accurate measurement and reporting. The role requires a high school diploma, pipeline knowledge, and the ability to work with limited supervision in a demanding environment.

As part of PMC's operations, you will coordinate with the Control Center, conduct meter proving, and participate in on-call rotations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Must have pipeline knowledge and experience with pump stations and crude oil shipping.
  • Ability to read technical operational manuals.
  • Basic math and computer skills.
  • Must have a valid driver's license and be able to read/write English.
  • Willingness to obtain DOT-required qualifications and training.

Responsibilities

  • Move petroleum products in and out of pump stations and perform custody transfers.
  • Inspect pumps, valves and equipment for proper operation and safety.
  • Ensure accurate measurement of crude oil quality and quantity per Plains procedures.
  • Complete monthly DOT tankage and fire extinguisher inspections and maintain records.
  • Maintain security of perimeter fencing and report infractions.
  • Coordinate with Control Center and witness meter proving and pipeline pig runs.
  • Perform other pipeline-related tasks as directed by Operations Supervisor.
