Job summary

Plains Midstream Canada (PMC) is seeking a Pipeline / Terminal Operator I to oversee and maintain pipeline facilities and terminals, ensuring safe movement and storage of crude oil and refined products. This field-based role requires attention to safety, daily inspections, and coordination with control centers and carriers.

Ideal candidates hold a high school diploma, can read maps and schematics, and communicate effectively in English.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Ability to read and interpret pipeline maps, technical drawings, and technical schematics.
• Ability to work in a team-based work environment, with strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic computer skills (Excel, Microsoft Office).

Responsibilities

• Performs maintenance, upkeep and cleaning of station, pipeline and terminal facilities including tanks, valves, engines, motors, mixers, piping, control panels, fencing, office, shop, and storage buildings.
• Monitors and maintains station activity reporting and related documentation including reports and records of readings, over/short documentation, and oil movement orders.
• Completes pipeline and facility checks, reporting abnormal conditions and troubleshooting as necessary.
• Safely operates all facility rotating equipment and valves, LACT and metering systems, and hydrocarbon drain systems.
• Inspects and maintains pipeline security in the field, and monitors Rights of Way for activity.
• Performs product movements to include receipts and deliveries from pipelines, rail cars, vessels, tank trucks and tank-to-tank transfers as needed.
