Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an Operations Specialist to be based at the Purvis Compressor Station in Purvis, MS. This Monday–Friday role includes on-call responsibilities during nights and weekends.

The position offers a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, two retirement plans, paid holidays and PTO. Ideal candidates bring experience with gas pipelines, compressors, and related equipment, and can read P&IDs and blueprints.

Qualifications

• Must be able to respond to callouts and emergencies after hours.
• Knowledge of compressors, engines, turbines, and pipelines helpful.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs and related diagrams.
• Familiarity with safety practices for flammable gases and high/low pressure systems.

Responsibilities

• Operate and maintain pipelines, compressors, and related equipment.
• Start, stop and operate engines and pumps within defined parameters.
• Ensure cost-effective performance of engines, pumps, and equipment at stations and facilities.
• Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, valves and instruments.
• Install and maintain valves, pipeline appurtenances and protection systems.
• Oversee maintenance and safety of facilities and equipment at sites.
• Coordinate with landowners, officials, and local groups during activities.
• Supervise third-party construction/maintenance work as required.
• Prepare documentation and ensure compliance with procedures and regulations.
