Job summary

Kinder Morgan is seeking an Operations Specialist based at the Purvis, MS compressor station to install, operate, and maintain pipelines, compressors and related facilities. This role includes on-call duties nights and weekends, with a strong emphasis on safety and regulatory compliance.

You will diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, valves and related equipment; maintain documentation; and coordinate with third parties. A valid driver’s license and readiness for shift work are required.

Qualifications

• Must respond to callouts and emergencies after regular hours, including nights and weekends.
• Knowledge of compressors, engines, turbines, pumps, valves, and related equipment.
• Ability to read blueprints, P&IDs and other diagrams.
• Knowledge of safe handling of flammable gases and high/low pressure systems.
• Possess a valid driver’s license; may require CDL and DOT compliance.

Responsibilities

• Operate pipelines, compressors and auxiliary equipment within defined parameters.
• Start/stop engines and pumps; ensure performance at stations and facilities.
• Diagnose and repair engines, turbines, pumps, valves and instruments.
• Install, repair and maintain valves, pipework and corrosion protection systems.
• Maintain facilities and equipment, including surveys, coating and backfilling as needed.
• Oversee third-party work and ensure safety and regulatory compliance.
