Job Summary:

West Penn Energy Services LLC is seeking a motivated and safety-focused Pipeline Laborer to join our pipeline construction team. This role involves supporting the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines and related facilities. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in construction, a strong work ethic, and a dedication to safety standards. Coating experience is a plus, as it will contribute to ensuring the quality and integrity of pipeline projects.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the installation, maintenance, and repair of natural gas pipelines, including tasks such as pipefitting, trenching, backfilling, and coating pipelines.
  • Operate and maintain hand and power tools, such as pipe cutters, wrenches, and grinders, safely and efficiently.
  • Perform physically demanding tasks, including shoveling, lifting, and carrying materials.
  • Support the loading and unloading of equipment, materials, and supplies at job sites.
  • Follow company and regulatory safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) such as hard hats, gloves, safety glasses, and boots.
  • Prepare and clean job sites by removing debris and ensuring compliance with environmental and safety standards.
  • Take direction from supervisors and collaborate with team members to complete tasks effectively and on schedule.
  • Conduct basic quality control checks to ensure the integrity of pipelines and coatings.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the site supervisor or project manager.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience in pipeline construction, oil and gas, or a similar construction environment.
  • Experience with pipeline coating application.
  • Proficiency in operating hand and power tools.
  • Physical ability to lift, carry, and move materials up to 50 pounds.
  • Willingness to work in confined spaces, trenches, and at varying heights.
  • Strong commitment to safety and adherence to company protocols.
  • Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions.
  • Willingness to travel to job sites and work overtime when needed.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Experience operating heavy equipment (e.g., excavators, backhoes, skid steers) is a plus.
  • Certifications in safety training, such as OSHA 10/30 or pipeline safety certifications.

Working Conditions:

  • Outdoor work in diverse weather conditions, including extreme heat, cold, and rain.
  • Potential for remote job site work, including overnight travel.
  • Physically demanding tasks, such as lifting, climbing, digging, and tool operation.
  • Extended hours and overtime may be required to meet project deadlines.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift and carry up to 50 pounds regularly.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, kneel, climb, and crouch for extended periods.
  • Must be comfortable working in confined spaces and at varying heights.
  • Must be capable of performing manual labor in demanding conditions.
