Job summary

ONE Gas, Inc. in Texas is seeking a field operations professional to perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance, and removal on transmission and distribution systems.

The role requires handling tools and equipment, basic arithmetic, reading maps/blueprints, and adhering to safety procedures. Responsibilities include routine vehicle/equipment maintenance, responding to emergencies, and maintaining regular attendance.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of use, function and maintenance of manual tools and equipment applicable to the position.
• Knowledge of basic arithmetic (tested).
• Knowledge of construction and maintenance of transmission and/or distribution pipeline systems.
• Working knowledge and training relative to:Working in excavations and/or confined spaces; Basic customer service activities; Company and governmental operating/safety procedures; Fusing plastic pipe; Characteristics of natural gas.
• Knowledge in basic computer functions and relevant software.
• Knowledge of plastic fusion.
• Understanding of how to read and interpret maps, atlas pages, blueprints, and job orders.
• Demonstrated ability to read and write fluently in English.
• Required applicable driver's license.
• Required applicable Operator Qualifications.
• Required CDL eligible.

Responsibilities

• Perform pipeline construction, installation, maintenance and removal work on transmission and distribution pipelines.
• Load, unload, and operate tools and equipment including but not limited to the items listed above.
• Perform routine maintenance on vehicles and equipment including fueling, lubricants, changing oil and filters, and cleaning/adjusting tools.
• Investigate customer related orders and emergency situations including low pressure calls, class 1 leaks, blowing lines, fires/explosions, and undetectable lines.
• Regular and reliable attendance is required in performance of job.
• Employee may be required to perform additional duties as assigned.
