Job summary

Targa Resources in Texas is seeking a Pipeline Technician to support the field operation of pipelines and facilities, ensuring safe, reliable transportation of natural gas and liquids. You will perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and emergency response in coordination with Pipeline Controllers.

Travelling daily in a company vehicle, you will work with excavation safety, 811 One-Call processes, and documentation of locate requests, maintenance records, and regulatory reporting.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1–5 years of related work experience.
• Minimum High School Diploma or Equivalent.
• Valid driver's license with a safe driving record.
• Interpersonal communication skills required with all teams, vendors and the public.
• Strong work ethic with ability to work with minimal supervision.
• Solid computer skills including Microsoft Office.
• Ability to work overtime, weekends, holidays, and respond to call outs; shifts as needed.
• Experience with 811 One-Call programs and utility locating preferred.
• Experience with Korterra or similar one-call management software.

Responsibilities

• Preventive and corrective maintenance of pipeline and facilities.
• Troubleshoot, test, repair, and maintain pipeline equipment including valves and filtration systems.
• Inspect and maintain pipeline system records and service reports.
• Respond to one-call locates and ensure timely documentation.
• Train and obtain DOT qualifications for pipeline tasks.
• Perform field startup/shutdown of equipment.
• Identify and respond to equipment malfunctions.
• Promote excavation safety and prevent third-party damages.
• Mark pipeline facilities per standards and regulations.
• Maintain relationships with excavators, contractors, and operators.
• Investigate third-party encroachments and unauthorized activity near facilities.
• Verify pipeline locations and maintain locate records.
• Prepare recurring operational and ad-hoc regulatory reports.
• Monitor facility operations for optimization and safety.
