Laveer Engineering is seeking a Pipeline Engineer to design high-pressure steel natural gas pipelines in Salt Lake City, UT. You will ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards throughout analysis, installation, and commissioning stages.

Qualifications

  • A bachelor's degree in mechanical or civil engineering is required.
  • 4–7 years of relevant experience are required.
  • Foundational understanding of high-pressure steel pipeline materials and construction practices.
  • Strong computer skills include Microsoft Office, communication tools, and engineering analysis software.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout, including valve placement and crossings.
  • Perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress under internal pressure, external loads, and thermal effects.
  • Specify pipe materials and coatings, procure materials.
  • Prepare and submit engineering calculations, forms, and checklists.
  • Track project schedules and monitor budgets.

Job description

Pipeline Engineer – Salt Lake City, UT

This role is responsible for the design of high-pressure steel natural gas pipelines for the Feeder-Line Replacement program, ensuring all analysis, installation, commissioning, operability, and integrity regulatory requirements and company standards are met or exceeded, including Code of Federal Regulations Part 192.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide technical and design support for pipeline routing and layout, determining block and tap valve placement, and designing pipeline crossings for rivers, interstates, and highways using open dig or trenchless construction methods.
  • Perform engineering analyses of pipeline stress considering internal pressure, external loads, thermal expansion, soil loads, seismic effects, etc.
  • Specify pipe materials and coatings, procure materials.
  • Prepare and submit engineering documentation (calculations, forms, checklists).
  • Track project schedules and monitor budgets.
  • Develop pressure test procedures and support commissioning activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including design drafting, right-of-way agents, cathodic protection engineers, and environmental specialists.
  • Report to a supervisor or manager.
Qualifications

A bachelor's degree from an accredited college in mechanical or civil engineering is required, along with 4–7 years of relevant experience. Candidates should have a foundational understanding of high-pressure steel pipeline materials and construction practices, and strong computer skills, including proficiency with Microsoft Office, communication tools, and engineering analysis software.
