Job description

Are you a Pipeline Engineer looking to take ownership of impactful utility infrastructure projects from concept through construction?

We're seeking a Pipeline Engineer II to join a growing engineering team responsible for the design and execution of critical pipeline capital projects throughout the Salt Lake Valley. This is an excellent opportunity to work on projects ranging from $5M to $50M+, including steel transmission pipelines up to 24 inches in diameter.

Travel: Local site visits approximately once per month

Project Duration: Up to 3 years

What You'll Do:
  • Design and engineer steel pipeline systems for utility infrastructure projects
  • Perform pipeline stress and load analysis to ensure compliance with federal regulations
  • Collaborate with drafting teams to develop construction‑ready designs
  • Coordinate with integrity engineering, operations, construction, and internal stakeholders to gather project requirements
  • Manage multiple projects simultaneously through design and execution phases
  • Review material specifications, procurement requirements, and lead times
  • Track project schedules, budgets, and milestones throughout the project lifecycle
  • Support pipeline routing, alignment, constructability reviews, and engineering documentation
What We're Looking For:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical, Civil, Chemical, or Electrical Engineering
  • Experience with pipeline engineering and design projects
  • Knowledge of steel pipelines, transmission systems, or utility infrastructure
  • Experience performing stress analysis and engineering calculations
  • Strong project management and coordination skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Oracle experience for budget and project tracking
  • Utility, natural gas, or energy infrastructure experience
  • Knowledge of federal pipeline regulations and industry standards
