Job summary

Cepeda is seeking a CI/CD Pipeline Developer to design, build, and maintain automated GitLab-centered CI/CD pipelines for Java and C++ teams. This onsite role at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, AL requires collaboration with developers, testers, and infrastructure personnel to deliver secure, scalable software delivery workflows.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or related discipline with 3+ years of relevant experience.
• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows and branching strategies.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications or collaborating with Java teams.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code technologies (Terraform, Ansible, Helm).
• Strong communication and collaborative skills.

Job description

Cepeda is seeking a CI/CD Pipeline Developer to provide onsite support at Redstone Arsenal in Huntsville, Alabama. The position supports enterprise-level software delivery efforts by designing, building, and maintaining automated GitLab-centered continuous integration/continuous delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for Java and C++ development teams. The successful candidate must be adept at working independently and collaboratively with software developers, testers, and infrastructure personnel to deliver efficient, secure, and scalable software delivery workflows.

Responsibilities:

• Architect, develop, maintain, and refine CI/CD pipelines with a strong focus on GitLab workflows, automation, and integration efficiency.
• Collaborate with Java developers, C++ developers, testers, and infrastructure teams to improve code integration, automated testing, and deployment processes.
• Implement and maintain effective branching strategies, merge processes, version-control standards, and repository workflows using Git and GitLab.
• Improve developer experience through automation enhancements, pipeline optimization, and consistent build and test environments.
• Support containerization and orchestration activities using Docker, Podman, Kubernetes, OpenShift, or comparable technologies.
• Develop and maintain documentation for pipeline designs, configurations, automation processes, and software delivery workflows.

Required Education:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline, with three (3) or more years of relevant experience.

Clearance Requirements:

• Must possess the ability to obtain a Secret security clearance; US Citizenship required

Required Qualifications/Experience:

• Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
• Strong understanding of Git workflows and contemporary branching strategies.
• Experience supporting Java-based applications or working directly with Java development teams.
• Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code technologies including Terraform, Ansible, or Helm.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively across diverse technical teams.

Preferred Qualifications/Experience:

• Extensive hands-on experience building, orchestrating, and maintaining CI/CD pipelines in GitLab.
• Background in full stack Java development or deep familiarity with Java architectures, build systems, and dependency management ecosystems.
