Job summary

Garney is seeking a Pipelayer in Georgia to install and repair underground pipes for water, sewer, and drain systems. The role involves trenching, grading, and coordinating with equipment operators to place and join pipes of various materials.

Experience with large-diameter pipe installation is required, along with willingness to travel and complete company certifications. Competitive benefits are offered.

Qualifications

• Two years of experience installing large diameter pipes for water, sewer, storm drain.
• Willing to complete Garney trainings and certifications (Rigging & Signaling, Confined Space, OSHA 10).
• Must be willing to travel and work overtime.

Responsibilities

• Prepare the area by trenching and grading.
• Perform laborer duties as required.
• Assist equipment operators in placing pipe.
• Direct equipment operators with hand signals.
• Backfill around pipe with hand tools.
• Set up and work with pipe lasers and transits.
• Locate and mark pipe positions in trenches.
• Assemble and install valves, fittings, and pipe (metal, PVC, ductile, concrete).
• Join pipes with screws, bolts, fittings, solder and solvent cement.
• Test pipes for leakage and measure/cut pipe.
• Promote Garney goals and philosophies.
