Job summary

Site Work Specialists in Rapid City, SD is seeking a pipelayer to grade, install PVC and concrete pipe, backfill, and operate a roller, skid loader, and other equipment. The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and precise grade work on northern plains projects.

Prerequisites include 6 months of experience (or training program), ability to obtain state/city pipelayer licensure after 2 years, and willingness to travel with overtime. Benefits and full-time hours offered.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 6 months of exp, will consider training program
• After 2 years, must obtain state/city pipelayer license within 6 months
• General knowledge of pipefittings and installation
• Must pass pre-employment drug/alcohol screening
• Need personal transportation to/from job sites
• Must bring PPE and tools to site
• Attend safety meetings and maintain safe practices
• Wear PPE (hard hats, safety glasses, hi-viz)
• Willingness to learn and master new tasks
• Pay attention to job details for a quality result
• Identify job hazards and communicate
• Safely operate all equipment/tools only when trained
• Keep tools clean and in order
• Promote safety and housekeeping on sites
• Positive attitude toward company, teammates, customers
• Work unsupervised and complete tasks as directed
• Willingness to travel out-of-town
• Overtime including some weekends
• Maintain personal hygiene and dress appropriately

Responsibilities

• Completes daily walk around checks on equipment
• Daily servicing of equipment (lube hydraulics)
• Grease assigned machine daily
• Reading grade stakes and checking grade
• Keep cab and floors free of trash
• Other tasks as directed by supervisor; even below skill level
• Be dependable to team and work as a team
