Job summary

Zachry Construction Corporation seeks an experienced Pipelayer for a heavy civil project. You will assemble, align, and install pipes for storm and sanitary sewers and water mains with precision in trench work. Emphasis on safety and quality, familiarity with RCP/RCB is preferred.

Minimum 3–5 years in utility/roadway construction, reading drawings, and using grades and lasers. Physical, dependable, and able to work with diverse teams in a demanding on-site environment.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years in utility or roadway construction.
• Experience with reinforced concrete pipe (RCP) up to 42" and box culverts (RCB).
• Ability to read and interpret drawings and specifications.
• Physical ability to perform tasks including lifting, bending, and trench work.
• Familiar with safety end treatments and concrete pipe work.

Responsibilities

• Prepare work areas and ensure trenches are graded for pipe installation.
• Set up lasers with grades and verify slopes per drawings.
• Make field adjustments in coordination with supervision.
• Assemble, align, and connect pipe sections accurately.
• Lay pipe for storm and sanitary sewers and water mains per specs.
• Seal joints using cement, glue, or sealants.
• Inspect pipe connections for fit and alignment.
• Operate hand and power tools safely.
• Backfill and compact trenches after installation.
• Follow safety rules and project procedures.
