Job summary

Gallo Mechanical is hiring a Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating, cooling and processing systems. The role requires interpreting specs and blueprints, selecting pipes, inspecting sites, and performing precise pipe work.

Candidates should have a high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years of pipe fitting experience, with strong math and Blue Book literacy. Physical, outdoor and high-voltage work conditions apply.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent and 5 years as a pipe fitter with experience in commercial plumbing.
• Uses basic math skills including geometry and trigonometry for job calculations.
• Ability to read and utilize Pipefitter's Blue Book.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints to understand the work.
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials for each job.
• Inspects work site for obstructions and structural concerns before cutting holes.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions and other workers' activities.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specifications.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal pipe and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
