Job summary

Gallo Mechanical, LLC in Raleigh, NC is hiring a Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, assemble, install and maintain piping systems for steam, hot water, heating and industrial processing.

You will read plans, select pipe and materials, inspect sites, plan installation sequences, cut and fit pipe, join components and pressure-test for leaks. A High School Diploma and 5 years of pipe fitting experience or technical training plus experience are required.

Qualifications

• Requires high school diploma or equivalent and 5 years' pipe fitter experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret job specs, plans and blueprints.
• Uses basic math, geometry and trigonometry for calculations.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints to gain understanding of work to be done.
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials needed for each job.
• Inspects work site to determine obstructions and ensure holes cut will not cause structural weakness.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions and coordinate with other workers.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specifications.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal piping and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by pressurizing and checking gauges.
