Job summary

Gallo Mechanical, LLC is seeking an experienced Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, install, and maintain piping systems for industrial and commercial applications. The role requires interpreting drawings, selecting materials, and sequencing work to avoid obstructions while complying with safety standards.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent and at least 5 years in pipe fitting, including reading Pipefitter’s Blue Book and performing precise measurements.

Qualifications

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints.
• Uses basic math including geometry and trigonometry for calculations.
• Reads and utilizes Pipefitter’s Blue Book.
• Works in diverse conditions including mechanical rooms and exposure to noise, weather, and risk of electrical shock.
• Highly physical: regular lifting up to 50 lbs and occasionally more than 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints to gain understanding of work to be done.
• Selects pipe type and size and related materials for each job.
• Inspects site to identify obstructions and ensure holes won’t compromise structure.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions and other workers’ activities.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specifications.
• Assembles and installs various metal and non-metal pipe and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
