Job summary

Gallo Mechanical, LLC in Baton Rouge seeks an experienced Pipe Fitter to lay out, fabricate, install and maintain piping for steam, hot water, heating and processing systems.

You will interpret job specs and blueprints, choose pipe types and sizes, inspect sites for obstructions, plan installation sequences, cut/fit/bend pipe, join fittings and test for leaks to ensure safe operation. This role is highly physical and requires working in varied conditions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent.
• 5 years as a pipe fitter with experience in commercial plumbing or equivalent.
• Ability to read and utilize Pipefitter's Blue Book and job plans.

Responsibilities

• Reads studies and interprets job specifications, plans and blueprints.
• Selects type and size of pipe and related materials for each job.
• Inspects work site for obstructions and structural concerns.
• Plans installation sequence to avoid obstructions and other workers' activities.
• Cuts, grinds, threads and bends pipe per specs.
• Assembles and installs metal and non-metal pipe and fittings.
• Joins pipe and secures to structure with clamps and hangers.
• Tests piping system for leaks by increasing pressure and observing gauges.
