Job summary

Epsilon Industries is seeking a Pipefitter/Steamfitter Journeyman for an on-site role in Alabama. The position includes a minimum 90-day on-site training period at the Tuscaloosa facility with a $500 per week per diem during training, then transfers to the Oxford facility for ongoing on-site work.

Responsibilities

• Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems and related equipment for production systems.
• Study blueprints and specs to determine pipe, tools, and task sequence.
• Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, and install pipes, valves, and fittings.
• Join sections and secure equipment; check systems for leaks with testing equipment.
• Drill, punch holes, and finish surfaces with hand and power tools.
• Willing to cross-train and perform other tasks as needed.

Job description

Wage: $30-36.72 per hour based upon Experience.
This is a fully on-site position. The employee will complete a minimum 90-day on-site training period at Epsilon Industries’ Tuscaloosa, Alabama facility and will receive a per diem of $500 per week during the training period. Upon completion of training, the position will transfer to and remain fully on-site at Epsilon Industries’ Oxford, Alabama facility.

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Lay out, assemble, install, or maintain pipe systems, pipe supports, or related hydraulic or pneumatic equipment for steam, hot water, heating, cooling, lubricating, sprinkling, or industrial production or processing systems.
• Study blueprints, drawings and specifications to determine the type of pipe and tools to use, and lay out the sequence of tasks
• Measure, cut, thread, groove, bend, assemble and install metal, plastic and fiberglass pipes, valves and fittings
• Join pipe sections, related equipment and secure in position
• Use testing equipment to check systems for leaks
• Drill and punch holes in metal, for screws, bolts, and rivets.
• Trim, file, grind, deburr, buff, and smooth surfaces, seams, and joints of assembled parts, using hand tools and various power tools.
• Willing to cross-train and perform the work of other job tasks in addition to the primary assigned position.

EDUCATION, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

• Possess a suitable combination of education and experience to meet the requirements of this position
• Must be a Pipe Fitter/Steamfitter Journeyman by trade
• Minimum of 1 – 3 years industrial experience is preferred
• Must be able to work with various hand tools and operate an industrial powered fork truck
• Demonstrated proficiency reading and interpreting work orders and drawings.
• Able to work independently or as a team player
• Able to take direction and communicate with others
• Have excellent time management skills, organized and detail oriented
• Employ a friendly, outgoing personality, respectful of co-workers and ability to work with individuals to carry out goals of the organization
