Job summary

TIC Inc in Louisiana is seeking an entry-level helper to support skilled craftsmen in reading isometric drawings, fabricating and installing piping, and preparing components under supervision.

You will assist with aligning, bolting and clamping parts for welding, handling tools and materials, and following plans at outdoor job sites. Overtime and weekend shifts may be required during busy periods; training will be provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; field experience welcomed.
• Ability to read and follow written/oral instructions.
• Knowledge of safe use of hand and power tools.

Responsibilities

• Learn to read isometric drawings, take measurements and fabricate piping.
• Assist skilled craftsman to align, bolt and clamp components for welding.
• Assist with assembly and securing pipes, tubes and fittings per specs.
• Position and secure materials during installation; follow plans and specs.
• Learn to distinguish metal thicknesses and types; handle rigging equipment.
• Operate tools including beveling machines, grinders, hammers, torches, magnetic drills, Saw-Zall.
• Layout and install equipment, vessels, pumps, pipes and supports.
• Assist with hydro testing piping systems.
