Job Description

An Industrial Pipe Fitter will assemble, layout, install, and maintain pipe systems on steam, fluid, or gas systems. The pipe systems may include, but are not limited to, pipe, flanges, supports, valves, gauges, hangars, and angles. Pipe Fitters may work in all parts of the construction or maintenance site, including buildings, outside, and inside structures such as tanks or boilers. The work may also include working in underground areas (excavations) and at heights of up to 300 ft.

Position Summary

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, preparing and installing pipe systems according to specifications, and ensuring safety protocols are followed. The role involves hoisting loads using rigging equipment and performing tests to ensure system quality.

Qualifications Highlights

• Must have 4+ years of experience as an Industrial Pipe Fitter or Pipe Fitter Helper.

Position Responsibilities

• Read blueprints and specifications to determine scope of work.
• Identify tools and safety risks, and take precautions.
• Prepare, fabricate, install, and fit pipe to specifications.
• Install valves, hangars, supports, flanges inside piping systems.
• Perform tests to ensure quality of piping systems.
• Hoist loads using rigging equipment.

Reports to Position

This position does not have direct reports but will work closely with and occasionally oversee helper and labor positions, holding a position and expertise authority over them.

Required Qualifications

• Experience in industrial construction/maintenance.
• Ability to read construction drawings and manuals.
• Knowledge of pipe fitting processes for industrial piping and boiler components.
• 4+ years of relevant experience.
• Problem-solving skills, manual dexterity, and good communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a commitment to safety and company values.

Preferred Qualifications

• Zachry ROF’ed or former Zachry employee.
• NCCER Certification as an Industrial Pipe Fitter.
• Formal or technical education.
