Job summary

PALA Interstate, LLC in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking a skilled Welder to perform Stick and TIG welding on carbon and stainless piping in an industrial setting. The position requires reading blueprints, following welding procedures, and working on elevated platforms while maintaining a clean, safe work environment.

Ideal candidates have experience welding carbon and stainless alloys, and can pass site weld tests with a strong emphasis on quality and safety.

Qualifications

• Minimum four years’ experience as a certified welder, or two years’ experience as Certified Welder plus 2 years ABC or equivalent training.
• Experienced in stick and TIG pipe welding.
• Experienced in welding carbon, stainless steel and various alloys.
• Must pass required welding test as required by the specific job site.

Responsibilities

• Reads and studies layout, blueprints, diagram, work order and welding procedures to determine work to be done.
• Plans work in logical sequence and determines tools/equipment needed.
• Lays out, positions, aligns and fits components together.
• Welds in flat, horizontal, vertical and overhead positions.
• Welds using SMAW, TIG and Flux Core processes.
• Preheats work piece and cleans joints.
• Repairs products by dismantling, straightening, reshaping and reassembling parts.
