Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking an experienced welder to fabricate and install metal structures per customer specifications. You will MIG or Stick weld, cut, and grind as part of a fabrication and erection team.

The role requires reading blueprints, basic math, and the ability to work outdoors in varying weather. Candidates must be 18+, able to lift 50 lbs, and pass background and drug screening as required by site.

Qualifications

• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Able to lift 50 pounds and endure bending, twisting, standing.
• 40+ hours per week with possible weekend shifts.
• Background check and drug screen based on location.

Responsibilities

• Weld metal structural components together.
• Perform thermal cutting and grinding as needed.
• Collaborate with erection team to finish tasks.
• Position and clamp components prior to welding.
• Maintain tools and equipment for welding.
• Ensure proper welding filler metal control.
• Must be able to MIG and stick weld.
• Read and follow customer specifications and blueprints.
